Can Sit It (Cant Stand It)

you know that feeling when you are trapped in a 1.5m by 1.5m (or so i exaggerated because it actually seem smaller) space 30000 feet in the sky, with a hyperactive kid right next to you shrieking incessantly like nobody's business, stepping on your arms, thighs and fingers (!!) like they were nonbiotic, and threatening to salivate upon you everytime he leans over to try spotting any birdie he imagined amongst the clouds as what mummy has been telling him about? any cutest of the cutest kids in the world during these moments just resemble My Precious - LOTR style.

REMINDER

i want to talk about pesky kids on planes and treading on people's toes.
A pair!

read a friend's blog which then linked to his gf's blog. somehow dawned on me when i was reading that they are such a compatible duo.

like me n ling?:P
cokcokgei!

This is rather postdated. Had my first Hen Party last sat before my trip, what fun! the suite at Goodwood Park was great. The PJ theme was great. The programs we planned were great. The birthday cake was great. The wine was great. most importantly, the peeps were great!

hard to believe 7 girls plus a bride-to-be can have such a smashing nite tog! Glad tt it was memorable for Mel.

The 4 Niao-guis ( xin, suami, Li and mua!) walked all the way to Taka to save 1 dollar or so for the mixers and chips. ha. We even plan to play punk and go into Thumper, stash the plastic bags in the lockers, bring out our mixers and tell the bartender that we brought our own! keke. Just the thought of going into Thumper with a cold storage bag in each of our hands alone tickles me so! haaa. oh! ran into Dumbledore on our way back to the suite tho, what a pleasant surprise when he just returned the day before. welcome back!=)

Pity Siao was not able to complete the gathering. pity too tt i cldnt make it to be the jiemei and for the church wedding yest. Suami said it was all so touching. aww. just imagining it makes my nose twitch..Wedding reception's tml. glad to make it this time. wat's more it's in the hotel just behind my office! so looking forward to the moment when Mel n Nigel walks down the aisle.... ahh..

Oh n i forgot to mention: the Photos were grreeaat too. *wink*
MALANG TRIP Part 3
A very totful good night note with a (laohong) cookie to go along on my bed on day 2. how sweet. ok i'm quite a sucker for such things.
The Key is longer than my wallet!
They have this antique Gong at the entrance. I thought they’ll gong it every time they have guests, but wrong guess luckily.
The Backyard
I love the floor tiles in this corridor – so classic!
I shot this specially for Ling – it’s a horse!

Oo what ancient sewing machine. I rem my mum’s old one where you have to keep stepping to and fro below for the needle to go.

I donno what this is – ancient typewriter or morse code machine???

The bar. How cool!

Was informed of this famous bakery beside the hotel’s resto. Decided to complement it w the doe-eyed young female staff.

They call this pastry Bluder. Sounds like bladder ya brother? :P (did you manage to see 2 out of 4 Beatles hanging on the wall?)

Woke up early on the last day to take a walk ard the hotel perimeter and the ‘tourist must try’ Independence Monument right in front of the hotel across the road.

My agent n his staff. Very kind man, very demure woman. So looking forward to the next scheduled trip in Jan!

MALANG TRIP part 2

i love these toiletries. the urns actually contain Aloe Vera bathgel and Lemon flavoured shampoo. Compared to the rest of the hotels i've been to with 'jus-to-get-the-job-done' toiletries, I'm starting to feel the hotel's sincerity..

The PRIVACY door hanger!

The thoughtful ginger tea that warms both my heart and my empty stomach. I expected ginger tea to be irky, but turns out fine!
Hotel resto - too dark to see anything i think. hmm.
Had Nasi-something and my favourite Indonesian Avocado juice at the hotel resto for dinner as I had no idea where to go and had too much of a common sense to venture out alone into Indonesian streets at night.
The hotel is famous for the many antiques it owns and displays throughout the premise. There is a free ‘Antique Tour’ that can be arranged with the hotel apparently, but pity I had no time for it. Made it up by touring wherever I dared to venture myself for a wholesome photowhoring! There were really quite some dark and quiet areas and alone with these ancient relics made things both exciting and scary. Heard of a meeting room with a lady’s portrait which apparently had some legend which I stopped my agent from saying before I start having wild ideas and develop insomnia. I regret the many more interesting stuff I cldn’t capture with my camera phone.
They have these ancient chairs and statues outside almost every room. Becomes quite fearsome to look at when it turns dark.

I didn’t dare to stay long here as there were some pictures of an ancient looking man on the other wall. Obviously I averted direct ‘eye contact’, much less take a photo. (footnote: Pumpkin asked how come i have such courage to wonder around alone amongst the ancient stuff. I wonder why too. i really wonder. Eee.)

MALANG TRIP Part 1

This inaugurated trip to Malang was total bliss (save for the airport that had the size of my living room x2). Just a bit of background, Malang is in East Java, Indonesia. Has a climate very similar to Bundung, 2 hours from Jakarta - temperate - cooling throughout the day. I didnt realise until after several appointments that there werent any fans installed in the rooms i were in but it felt like there were! how joyous.. along the way you can see mountains, 1 especially with a local name Sleeping Princess because of the way it resembles a princess sleeping ( yes i cld spot the eyes, nose, mouth and ya breasts), and lots of candi (temples) - what an exotic mix.

first time to Malang so left it to my agents for the hotel bookings and stuff - what a good decision as he booked me for the most unique hotel in Malang. first time that i seriously feel i need a camera as i got limited by the functions of my camera phone. don expect too much, here goes!

a basket of fresh flowers to welcome me - what a surprise when i first stepped into the room!

frangipani on the bed! (tho honestly i'll like it better if it's jasmine)

The room menu

I like the tiles of this bathtub.

Yellow petals in the sink makes things so cheery

(apparently Blogger has prob loading the many many pics, and also coz i am left with 15 min internet time, so shall divide into several parts. stay tuned!)
