HCMC Jun 08
last min trip. Short n sweet. In n out. I like!
A friend brought me to have this Hue food located on the 2nd floor and the staircase up was so winding and narrow u really cant imagine how. i think they basically have something against Chubbies. anyway, so this dish is apparently the most famous, didnt catch the name. promise to find out. Like Chwee Kueh, tasty with Fish Sauce!

hung out at this ice cream store on sat afternoon aft all my appointments. the best thing about Vietnam is free wifi's everywhere. cleared emails, finished my report there! i love the decor in this shop - pink chairs and REAL bright yellow sunflowers. This is very close to the kind of concept i will like for mine!
Agent brought me to this local food place to have soft-sell crab Viet style. these baby sized crabs were so alive n kicking at the entrance.

my sweet sweet agents. obviously belonging to the other extreme- those whom Singaporeans men are more exposed to.

my usual Viet delicacies.,BunCha, Viet coffee.
yes that's spring roll.

I know International Friends' Week has past (or has it?), but i still wish to celebrate my friends.

You'll reach an age when it's not about how many friends anymore, it's about WHO they are.
And I so love mine.

In Sunny Singapore, there arent really trying circumstances for us to test our resilience. Not that we ever need them. There ARE already enough situations to make you see WHO your friends are. Sometimes, even outside of Singapore.

I have not noticed when it was that the word Friend has taken on a totally new meaning. You've spent your whole life with this word and suddenly it's presenting a different facet to you.

But i've noticed my ATTITUDE's changed though. I don't bother taking initiatives anymore with people who doesnt fall into my self-thoughtout definition. This is definitely non-offensive. It's purely from my own respect.

I used to have thoughts like: Hey but we just met, why are we meeting again?
Not anymore.
I realised that Friends are people whom you can meet and see everyday without feeling bored. you do not even notice you met last month, last week, yesterday or a few hours ago. for the same matter, you also do not sense the long period of non-meeting.

Fact is, you do not feel the sense of absence exactly because they are already in your heart.

Ok now you'll say you'll miss certain people when you don't see them for a period, so hey isnt that noticing the absence? No. It's not. It's accentuating their places in your heart.

Don't get it?
Nvm.
I do.
and it's all that matters.

I always feel Three aint enough. Million cheers to You, Chub's Friend.

A Thai, a Viet and a Singaporean girl.

Friend J likened

1. a Singaporean girl to a doctor - you need one for the correct and logical analysis.
2. a Viet one to a physiotherapist - functional and pragmatic
3. a Thai girl to a masseuse - pleasurable without tangible benefits

What do you reckon? ;)

A chronic self-reflective friend wrote:

"It's very hard for people who think they are smart to accept that the person beside them is smarter, especially when the smart people make it seem as tho the not-so-smart are just blabbering nonsense."

i do blabber.

Is it my business?
The Happening

is a movie that probably will make you draw your knees, wrap around them, hide in a corner and do some serious thinking about Saving Gaia.

Read that N Shayamalan was inspired while walking through a forest/vast land/river/nature. whichever i cant recall. but the idea's that he got the plot when in touch with plants. with the weird character he is being protrayed as, no surprise if he says the plants communicated with him.

The way our Earth's turning out - unexpected showers in non-rainy seasons, ultra high temperatures in moderate climate, rising sea levels threatening to inundate Tuvalu - small wonder it's the plants' turn to retaliate.

What have we done?

Tribute

To the one who brought us swimming every weekend when we were young
To the one who asked us to punch his tummy in the absence of a punching bag, during his self-taught Taekwondo lessons
To the one who piggyback us just to make us laugh
To the one who put us on his shoulders so we could see above him
To the one who carried us to the bedrooms when we fell asleep watching tv
To the one who liked to drive me back to hall in my U days
To the one who now likes to drive me to and back from the airport.

To the one who likes to wash the dishes, now.

To the one whom I find awkward to say thank you to face-to-face.

To my Pa. Happy Father's Day.
SHABU SHABU!

No we did not go after the report in Life! last Saturday. We went BEFORE that can! Was so much fun though i got sunburnt and the peel is only just completed. never imagined we could have walked for a cool 2.5 hours ONE WAY. Never been up Mount Faber in the daytime too, and the view was fantastic. 3 years in NUS plus a couple of visits to Kent Ridge park and i've JUST only discovered that walkway.. Singapore aint that boring after all!

Pika was INTRIGUED by the my GOLD watch and I felt obliged to pose for him.

Singtel Grand Prix - the PRELUDE
one lazy Saturday afternoon, L and I were just reliving our Sec/JChood roaming ard Orchard Road and decided to pop by the F1 Simulator located on the ground just beside the Singtel HQ along Exeter Road. Go try it if you havent, it's free. Just as long as you are min 1.6m.. obviously i wasnt allowed to get involved in the excitment...

..warming up..
